WhatsApp New Features
WhatsApp is now seven years old. Around one billion people all over the world use WhatsApp to reach their friends and family. Recently WhatsApp has joined an Arab users club. It uses WhatsApp to keep in touch with their friends and their family, one out of every seven people on Earth.
WhatsApp is available on almost all the users' mobiles today. WhatsApp update notifications come regularly and you update it as well. But do you know what new you are getting in all these updates? If you do not know, you are missing many features of WhatsApp.

Here are the total and interesting features of WhatsApp that you should know about.

What's App 'Delete For Everyone' Feature:
Everybody comes in a situation at some point in life, where we send a message to the wrong person. This will help with this new feature of WhatsApp.
Smartphones have become a major part of our communication and hence the number of our contacts has become hundreds. There is a slight difference of names between these contacts. In such a situation, sometimes someone gets a message by mistake.
Using this feature, you can delete the sent message and it will also be deleted from the WhatsApp of the receiver.
How ever there are some terms for this. Messages can be deleted within ten minutes of sending.
How it works:
1) Tap and hold the message, then choose delete from the menu. You can select and delete multiples mgs at once.
2) Then you have to select "delete for everyone" for others so that your message is not visible.
WhatsApp New Features
1) WhatsApp is now free:
WhatsApp's service was completely free till the first year and every year thereafter, one dollar subscription fee was required to be paid. But right now, WhatsApp, through its blog, formally announced that it will no longer be a year-long subscription fee on WhatsApp.
2) Group chat with 256 people at once:
In WhatsApp, the limit of members of the group was only 100, which has now been increased to 256. So now WhatsApp is a great way to keep in touch with your family, friends and colleagues. Along with adding more people to the group, you can also create unlimited groups.
3) Bookmark the message:
Till now we are using Star for important emails. But from now on, this feature has been included in WhatsApp as well. The Star Message feature allows you to highlight and pin a particular message, so that you can refer to it quicker later.
To star a message -
1- Tap and hold the mgs you want to star.
2- Tap on the star icon that appears above the screen.
To view Starred Messages -
1- Open WhatsApp.
2- Tap the menu button.
3- Tap on star message.
4) Backup the chat to Google Drive
In the first version of WhatsApp, you could only take a local backup, which runs automatically every day at 2 am and a database file is saved on the phone. But most users using WhatsApp will not know that all messages can be backed up on Google Drive. The biggest advantage of this is that you can keep your message safe forever and if you switch Android phone or get a new phone, you can easily restore all chats and media on WhatsApp. To use Google Drive, make sure that your device is in sync with Google Drive and that Google Play service is installed on your phone with enough free space on the phone.
To backup on Google Drive -
1- Open WhatsApp.
2- Go to Menu> than Settings> than Chats and calls> than Chat backup.
3- Tap Back up to Google Drive and choose the option of Daily, Weekly, Monthly for backup frequency as per your choice or tap on Back Up for instant backup.
4- With this, in the option of Back up over, choose Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi and Cellular.
5- Now backup of WhatsApp's message will start on Google Drive.
5) Easy way to clear chat
If there is no reason to keep old messages in WhatsApp, then there are many options in WhatsApp to clear chat.
1- Go to WhatsApp> Menu> than Settings> than Chats and calls.
2- Scroll down and tap Clear all chats.
Here you will see three options all messages, messages older than 30 days, or messages older than 6 months. Tap on one of these options.
6) Hide a chat from the chat screen
Do you want to hide someone's conversion or hide unnecessary chats from the chat screen? This is now possible in WhatsApp. With the feature of Archive Chat, you can hide the conversion done with someone and later access it if needed. You can archive group or personal chat to organize the conversion more thoroughly.
Note: Chat is not deleted using archive chat or backup on SD card.
1- To archive chat -
2- In the chat screen, long press on the chat you want to hide.
3- Select Archive chat from the pop-up menu.
The chat will now be archived and will not appear on your chat screen.
To unarchive chat -
1- Scroll to the bottom of the chat screen.
2- Tap on Archived chats.
3- Long press or tap on the chat you want to unarchive.
4- Select Unarchive chat from the pop-up menu.
To archive all chats-
1- From the main chat screen of WhatsApp, go to the Setting option.
2- Select the option of chats and calls.
3- From the Chat settings screen, tap on Archive all chats.
4- When a new message is received in this conversion, the archive chat appears again.
7) Create a home screen shortcut for your favorite chat
Do you chat with some friends constantly? If yes, you can create a shortcut icon on your Android home screen for these friends or groups. After this you can go directly to chat by tapping on this icon.
1- Long press on the conversion you want to create a shortcut in WhatsApp.
2- A list of options will appear, select Add conversation shortcut here.
3- Now the profile picture of this contact will appear on the phone's home screen. You can chat with them directly by tapping on it.
8) Mark the message as unread
If you want to reply to a message, but later it is more likely that you will forget to reply. In this case you can mark these messages as Unread, you will be given a visual reminder to later reply to this message.
To mark the message as unread, long press on the chat and then select the option of Mark as Unread.
But it only shows anonymity on your phone and it will not have any effect on all the read messages inside the chat. The recipients of this message can still see that you have read this message.
9) Choose custom notifications for people and groups
To customize notification settings -
1- Go to the Setting option of WhatsApp.
2-Now select the option of Notifications.
3- Here you will find options for tones, vibration length, light, popup notifications, call ringtone.
In addition, notification settings can be customized for any group as well -
1- Go to the group for which you want to customize the notification settings.
2- From the top of the screen, go to More.
3- Now select Group info> custom notifications.
10) Send documents via WhatsApp
The way you send media, contacts or locations with WhatsApp, you can also send documents to the contacts in the same way. But please keep in mind that WhatsApp supports only PDF files for sending, whose maximum size of the file is 100 MB.
To send a PDF file from WhatsApp -
1- Open chat
2- Tap the icon at the top of the screen.
3- Select the option of Document.
4- Select the document you want to send and select Send from the pop up.
11) Send your location to your contact
With WhatsApp, you can now send the location of any of your contacts to where you are now. With this feature, you can send the exact location of the coffee shop, park, restaurant or some other place you are currently. With this, you can remove the confusions that occur by telling them the address of your current location.
To send a location through WhatsApp -
1- Open chat
2- Tap the icon at the top of the screen.
3- Select the location option.
4- From here you can also send contacts, videos, audio from your chat address book.
